The Morden Park Lodge Festival Express.
Helping other people and having fun doing it.
During a Festival the Province of Surrey, Individual Lodges and even just groups of friends come up with many fun ways of fund raising in order to support the worthwhile charities.
Saturday 22nd July 2017 was our turn when we chartered 2 carriages of the Famous Watercress Line Real Ale Train.
The members of Morden Park Lodge, supported by members from other Lodges, their families and friends boarded the 7.30 pm Alton to Arlesford steam train from platform 3.
And so began three hours of great company and merriment as we passed through some of Hampshire's finest countryside being pulled by a vintage steam engine. The sound of which was really something to behold.
Many curries and chillies were eaten, Local craft ales proved very popular, and three lucky couples will be enjoying Red Letter Day prizes won in the draw. All in all we raised £950.00 to be presented to the R.M.B.I on our behalf by The Province of Surrey.
Special thanks must go to Weybridge Lodge, Priory Gate Lodge, Robert Burns Lodge and Croydon Lodge of Achievement who were all well represented on the night.
To John Lake for his donation of a Red Letter Day raffle prize.
Also to our new APGM Mike Harding for his support.
Greeted by The Past Provincial Junior Grand Warden and his wife.
Supported by The Deputy Provincial Grand Secretary.
Accompanying The Assistant Provincial Grand Master
And even some glamour.
